Accessibility

Last Update : 6th March 2009

In 2002, Sligo County Council became a signatory to the Barcelona Declaration.

As a signatory, Sligo County Council pledges to make Council services and information accessible to those persons with disabilities.

This website is designed in accordance with the W3C WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and conforms to most priority 1,2 checkpoints.

A list of outstanding issues are

  • Sligo Local Authorities are working with the Local Government Computer Services Board to develop e-Plan, an on-line planning Enquiries system, and e-Reg, an on-line register of electors system. It is hoped to have a new version in late 2009 that will be more accessible
  • Sligo Local Authorities are also working to devise a means of presenting Geographical Information Systems in accessible format. If you need any assistance regarding Maps etc please ring 071 9111111
  • Some content is published in Portable Document Format (pdf). Most PDF is inaccessible, it is hoped to make this content accessible on a phased basis.
  • We have completed the conversion of  Sligo County Council meetings and agenda's from PDF to accessible HTML.

All new content published to the site is published in accessible HTML.

If you require information in an alternative format please phone the Communications office at 071 9111016
