SNAPSHOT premiere at the Hawk’s Well Theatre, 28th August 2021

Excitement is building ahead of the stage PREMIERE of Snapshot by Miriam Needham, directed by John Carty. This comedy-drama piece saw Miriam interview 44 people in the north-west, over Zoom or outdoors, about how the first few weeks of the lockdown in 2020 had been for them. She then wrote the play inspired by the stories she heard.

The story line follows two sisters who are living in the same house at the start of the pandemic, and is interspersed with audio extracts from the real-life interviews. It explores the different ways in which we remember and in which we cope. “It’s fiction woven with non-fiction. It’s a bit of an experiment, but so is everything right now!” says Miram modestly.

Hailed as “a real triumph” during its preview, the stage show staring Miriam and Nichola MacEvilly takes place on Saturday 28th August, with a matinee at 2pm, and an evening showing at 8pm. It will be performed in the newly renovated Hawk’s Well Theatre Sligo auditorium to socially distant audiences.  In line with Government recommendations, seating capacity is limited and tickets must be pre-booked in advance. Tickets for both shows priced €15 (plus €1 booking fee), are available now. For enquiries or to book, visit www.hawkswell.com or call 071 916 1518.

This is a Hawk’s Well Theatre production created with the support of the Arts Council and Creative Ireland.
