Murmur by Susanne Colleary selected as part of Edinburgh Fringe Festival & Camden Fringe Festival

Murmur by Susanne Colleary

A Cautionary Fairytale for This Uncertain Moment

Murmur is an absurdist audio drama; an experimental 'sound cartoon' for the listener.  Ren and her unborn Baba are living a makeshift life in the high woods. Here, they encounter Bee, who has the answer to Ren's prayers. Or does she? With her factotum Mag, Bee attempts to part Ren from everything she holds dear. However, it's not all plain sailing and Mag is misbehaving. The play is a cautionary fairy tale as dark comedy, filled with denials, lies, distractions, starlings and a talking donkey. A kind of comic, hyper anxiety as a response to this uncertain moment.

Production company Magpie hails from the Northwest of Ireland, Sligo to be exact and with the multi-talented Susanne Colleary as its Artistic Director. Murmur includes some of Sligo’s greatest talents with actor Sandra O Malley and sound designer Joe Hunt both from the Blue Raincoat ensemble. Magpie are delighted to announce that Murmur has been selected as part of both Edinburgh Fringe Festival & Camden Fringe Festival. This project is funded by Sligo County Council & Creative Ireland.
