All Ireland Confined Drama Finals 21 to 29 April 2017

The All Ireland Confined Drama Finals open in St Brigids Hall Theatre on Friday 21 April and continues nightly to Saturday 29 nightly at 8pm except on closing night when curtain up will be 7pm. The Western Drama Festival are looking forward to an excellent programme of plays to entertain drama enthusiasts. Our festival never disappoints. 

The details and synopsis of the nine plays and the night they will be performed in the All Ireland Drama Finals is posted on www.westerndramafestival.com. You can check in on the web page to book directly or phone the Hawks Well Theatre Sligo 071 91 61518. We are delighted booking is strong. This is a great opportunity to see excellent plays performed by the top groups in Ireland.  You can view and print down the info on each play from the website also. We are most grateful for the support of Sligo County Council for the event and we are most appreciative of the excellent support from sponsors.

The finalists are really looking forward to performing their play in the All Ireland Competition, hosted in St Brigids Hall the birthplace of the amateur drama festival movement. We look forward to meeting you there on this special occasion for Drama lovers! 

Western Drama Festival Committee

The WDF committee includes Billy Kilgannon, Chairperson, Oliver Flannery, Brendan McGowan, Sean Johnston, Benny Henry, Sean Armstrong Eileen Davey, Jimmy Coleman, Eileen Kelly, Patricia McCarrick, Ursula Brennan, Collette Cooke, Anne Cooke, Tom Walsh, Michelle McKim, Oonagh Murtagh, Una Callaghan, John McCarrick, Tom Callanan, Breege Colleran and Kevin Colleran and Paddy Cooke. The committee is growing daily and we are delighted with the assistance of our new volunteers, it will be ‘all hands on deck’ to ensure the success of the event!

Indeed, running the All Ireland Three Act confined Finals is very exciting for Tubbercurry and South Sligo as it is a very high profile event, which offers a wonderful opportunity to showcase Tubbercurry and its environs nationally, our excellent hospitality, and great appreciation of drama!
