Sligo Arts Service is delighted to announce their artists and concert programme for Music in Drumcliffe which will take place from Friday 1st May to Monday 4th May 2015.  As festival ensemble-in-residence the Vogler Quartet, will perform alongside renowned Tatjana Masurenko (viola), Irish pianist Finghin Collins, Rachel Kelly mezzo-soprano, as well as Aoife Nì Bhrìain, violin, and Dearbhla Collins, piano. This festival will also see the renowned Trio Imàge and Deep Strings perform for the first time in Ireland as part of Music in Drumcliffe.

Repertoire will include works by Haydn, Beethoven, Debussy, Strauss, Schubert and Brahms. The festival will also present a concert to commemorate the life and work of one of Ireland’s best loved classical music promoters, John Ruddock. This is a collaboration between Music in Drumcliffe Festival and Con Brio.

Since its establishment in 2000, Music in Drumcliffe has become one of Ireland’s leading international chamber music festivals, offering audiences the opportunity to experience high standards of programming through a fresh choice of artists, set in one of the most beautiful locations in Ireland, at the foot of Benbulben mountain and in the heart of Yeats Country.

Strings Attached: A Mentoring Programme for String Quartet with the Vogler Quartet, 2012 -2015. Strings Attached offers young string quartets a unique opportunity to nurture potential and now in its third year we are delighted to have the Arioso Quartet and the Mesefe Quartet, perform as part of our festival programme.

Music in Drumcliffe in association with Music Generation Sligo is offering, as part of this year’s festival, a Music Education Programme for Advanced Young String Quartets and Students of Music. Masterclasses are available for advanced students (Grade 7+) under the age of 18 in violin, viola, cello, piano and for string quartets. This programme will be delivered by festival guest artists.

Music lovers can look forward to yet another cultural packed bank holiday weekend of inspiring music in the friendly, intimate and evocative setting of Drumcliffe, Co Sligo.

Tickets for Music in Drumcliffe range from €10 to €25. Season tickets are €135.

Music in Drumcliffe has partnered with Music Generation Sligo to offer half price tickets for children and young people under 18.
