Sligo Arts Service is delighted to announce their artists and concert programme for Music in Drumcliffe 2011 which will take place from 30th April to 2nd May 2011.  As festival ensemble-in-residence, The Vogler Quartet, will perform alongside Finghin Collins, piano (Ireland), Bruno Schneider, French horn (Germany), Salome Kammer, singer (Germany), Henning Wiegräbe, trombone (Germany), Daniel Schynder, saxophone (Switzerland) and Elisaveta Blumina, piano (Russia). Repertoire will include works by Beethoven, Dvořák, Frescobaldi, Schnyder, Mozart, Silvestrov, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Schulhoff, Tchaikosvky and Haydn.

This year the festival brings two new events to its programme. Open Rehearsals with The Vogler Quartet and Guests on Saturday between 10.30am and 1.30pm in St. Columba’s Church, Drumcliffe and an early evening Coffee Concert in Teach Ban Nua Art Gallery, Drumcliffe on Saturday from 5.30pm. Festival Highlights include the Late Night Concert on Sunday May 1st, showcasing the music of the internationally acclaimed composer Daniel Schnyder including his horn trio, Walden, and the Monday noon concert featuring a piano duet by Elisaveta Blumina and her son Vladimir Sint, age 12.

Music lovers can look forward to this annual bank holiday weekend of inspiring music in the friendly, intimate and evocative setting of Drumcliffe, Co Sligo.
