Paul Clarvis brings his unique style of music to many genres. He can be heard on recordings by John Williams, Victoria Mullova, Andy Sheppard, Kenny Wheeler, Fred Hersch , Mick Jagger, Karl Jenkins "Adiemus", Richard Thompson, Moondog, John Adams, Elton John, McFly, Sam Rivers, Paul McCartney, John Harle, Sting, Gwyneth Herbert, Harrison Birtwhistle, Annie Lennox, Matthew Herbert, Hugh Masekela,Underworld and his own band Orquestra Mahatma.

As one of the most requested session musicians, he has played on numerous films including Star Wars, Thunderbirds, The Passion, Troy, King Arthur, Kingdom of Heaven, Around the World in 80 Days, Alien v Predator, Lord of the Rings, Madgascar,The Constant Gardner, On a Clear Day, Spy Games, Captain Corellis Mandolin, Shakespeare in Love, G.I.Jane, James Bond, Billy Elliot, Notting Hill, Harry Potter and many others.

He regularly gigs with Mose Allison, has played with Nina Simone, Herbie Hancock and was Leonard Bernsteins favourite percussionist when in London . He has judged the BBC Young Musician of the Year several times, and has been made an HonRAM. Paul has written “Global Heartbeat 1,2 and 3” on KPM, which is music of the world, “Drumming” and “Jazz notes” on West One, and “Shadow Soul”, percussion based urban grooves, on KPM. He has recently recorded a double album “Power Percussion” for KPM In the last year Paul has been credited for playing on Chronicles of Prince Narnia, Brideshead Revisited, Three and Out, Doctor Who, Batman-The Dark Knight, Burn after Reading, The Mummy 3, The Other Man, both Twilight 1 and 2, Harry Potter, Quantum of Solac,State of Play,Sherlock Holmes,Prince of Persia, the Incredible Mister Fox.

Live performances in 2008/09 with Mose Allison, Nick Cave , Blink, Liquorstick Allsorts, Harrison Birtwhistle, Apitos, Orquestra Mahatma and Karl Jenkins .

Paul has made albums in 2008/09 with Blink, Liquor Stick Allsorts, and the Nick Smart Trio,Shirley Bassey, The Hoosiers, Underworld. He has a duo CD, Starry Starry Night with Liam Noble , due to be released in march 09 on the Village Life CD label Pure Pleasure vinyl.
