Live Music at Ballymote Library

“So Many Years with the Blues” at Ballymote Community Library

Selected photographs from the exhibit So Many Years with the Blues, by photograher James Fraher (Chicago) will be featured at the Ballymote Library during July.

Join us on Thursday 28th July at 8 pm for So Many Years with the Blues, a lecture/performance by James Fraher during which he will weave stories of meeting and photographing African American blues musicians along with sharing their spoken words. Fraher’s photos have graced many music recording and magazine covers and books, including The Blues is a Feeling: Voices and Visions of African American Blues Musicians, Down in Houston: Bayou City Blues and Texas Zydeco. During the second half of the evening, James will be joined by harmonica player David Whittredge (Boston) to perform some inspired acoustic blues.

A photography, storytelling and blues event not to be missed! To attend this free event please call 071 911 1669, or email ballymotelibrary@sligococo.ie to book your place.
