“Keep the Home Fires Burning?”

November 8th 2014 8.30 pm Gillooly Hall

During the First World War, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare.  “Keep the Home Fires Burning” Sligo Orpheus Choir Sligo, Chamber Orchestra with soprano Eunjoo Goh and Defence force Piper with Army personnel will remember the 564 men and 1 woman from Sligo who died in that conflict.  They will be honoured in music song and verse at our winter concert on Saturday 8th November at 8.30 pm in the Gillooly Hall Sligo.  The program will be introduced by R.T.E.’s Tommy Gorman.
