Artists Statement:

I am interested in creating images and paintings using mixed media but largely based on classic painting techniques using oils and/or acrylics.  I like my paintings to have a strong element of tangibility which i create either through the use of texture or the effects of light, i often work from my own photographs which i utilise a little like sketches upon which my finished pieces maybe loosely based. My objective is not to recreate what we can already see in a photograph but rather to offer that which a photo can’t and so i hope my paintings offer the viewer a kinaesthetic experience, a sense of being there.

Biography:

Born In Harpenden, United Kingdom, brought up and Educated in U.A.E, Qatar, Bahrain, St. Lucia and England.  Studied Art and Design at West Surrey College of Art and Design and at London College of Printing (London Institute) Lived and Worked in London for 10 years working largely in the Telecommunications and business sector. Moved to Ireland in 2006 and began to pursue his love of painting in earnest, has exhibited privately in Dingle Co. Kerry and is currently working on a new body of paintings for a new private exhibition in the summer of 2009 in Sligo. Now settled in Sligo as of December 2008 and very happy to be here.
