Fiona McGowan


Fiona is originally from Lurgan, Co. Armagh. After graduating from the Gaiety school of Acting, she moved to Sligo to work with the Blue Raincoat Theatre Company.

Her first performance with the company was Sligo playwright, Malcolm Hamilton’s production ‘A Vinegar Fog’.

She went on to perform in many of the companies plays over the years, including Ophellia in ‘Hamlet’, Marcelle in ‘Still Life’, Alice in ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and Claire Crowhurst in ‘The Strange Voyage of Donald Crowhurst’.

Other theatre credits include, Maire in the Abbey’s production of Translations.

Fiona has recently acted in two short films, ‘Silence’ by Westminster productions, London and ‘Loner’ written and directed by Scott Pertree which is due to be screened at this years Galway film festival.

Fiona has just completed a three year diploma at ‘L’ecole de Mime corporeal dramatique’, London and is delighted to be back in Sligo. She is planning a one woman show to be performed in Sligo in Autumn 2008.
